Mountain Lion No. 2

Mountain Lion No. 2

Name:  Dexter

Photographer Notes:  Dexter, I’ll never forget you.  Photographing big cats are an experience unlike any other animal. The combination of power and grace within the animal is not only tangible but can be frightening. They command respect and one wrong move and things could escalate quickly. Dexter, a one-year-old mountain lion (cougar, puma, same thing) had a low rumbling growl the entire time we had him in studio. The trainers were feeding him raw chicken and he was using his hands to grab it off the feed stick. Dexter swiped at the chicken and it landed at my feet. He jumped off the riser he was on and came down to eat the chicken at my feet. The fear inside me was literally like a rushing wave drowning me. But I knew damn well not to move. I took a deep breath, HUGE deep breath, as the trainer gently walked Dexter back up on the riser, luring him with more chicken.

    Printing Process

Our prints are made using the finest materials and printers available in a tightly controlled environment.  We use German based manufacturer Hahnemühle’s Photo Rag Baryta paper.  It is 100% cotton based with a subtle luster coating and has a hefty weight of 315GSM.  This is arguably the finest printing paper in the world.  Furthermore, we create a custom profile for our printer paper combination and use archival pigment inks, all of which allows us to create the highest quality prints designed to last a lifetime.

Our prints are carefully enclosed in glassine and then packaged to protect while shipping.  We include a beautifully designed certificate of authenticity with both limited and open editions.  The certificate includes the artist signature, title and edition number, if applicable.  We suggest placing the certificate on the back of the framed piece in an envelope.

After receiving your print, we recommend keeping it enclosed in the glassine covering it was shipped in until the image is framed.  In particular, for larger prints we recommend exercising CAUTION when unrolling the print as damage could occur if not careful.  Ideally the larger prints should be unrolled by a framing professional.  Finally, we recommend perfect mounting on foam board when framing images larger than 11X14.

All prints come with a certificate of authenticity. The certificate includes the artist signature, title and edition number, if applicable.  We suggest placing the certificate on the back of the framed piece in an envelope.
